Applus+ Velosi in the UAE hosts a Blood Donation Drive

A total of 32 employees from Applus+ Velosi in the UAE participated in the event. The initiative was in association with the Abu Dhabi Blood Bank and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, to support patients who are critically ill and in urgent need of a blood transfusion.

Andrew Cunningham, Country Manager for Applus+ Velosi in the UAE described the initiative as a “great example of the generosity of the UAE team and their dedication to charitable causes.” He also added that giving blood can save lives, and that we cannot underestimate the importance of regular blood donation to the work of the UAE medical services.

The Applus+ blood donation campaign was carried out under the direction of the Regional QHSE Manager. He was pleased to report a good level of participation from the local team, as well as from external participants and offered the following words of thanks:

“We are truly grateful to all of the Applus+ employees who took part in the campaign. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to the team from the Abu Dhabi Blood Bank for the support and assistance which ensured that the campaign was a success.”
All participants underwent a medical assessment before giving blood which included blood pressure testing to ensure donors were sufficiently fit and healthy to give blood.

The Abu Dhabi Blood Bank praised Applus+ Velosi’s effective organization of the event and expressed gratitude to the company’s Human Resources Department, managers and supervisors who worked together to make such a valuable contribution to the work of the Emirate’s medical services.
