Applus+ was commissioned to conduct a five-yearly inspection of an offshore crane pedestal in the North West Shelf of Western Australia.
Our highly skilled rope access inspection team mobilised with advanced ultrasonic equipment to conduct the inspection. The works included visual inspections and Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT). Our team also assisted with various other inspections on the facility and supported the on-board inspection team as well.
The Applus+ supervisor's leadership and knowledge of client system, reporting and procedures allowed the team to work autonomously, with minimal interaction from the on-board inspection team. From the project kick-off, our technical department was actively involved in the task, providing real-time advice, assisting with equipment, and authoring of bespoke inspection procedures and scan plans for the PAUT of the welds.
This project strengthens Applus+ position as a leading advanced NDT provider for this industry in Australia.
