Applus+ and Four Hills Group form a partnership for inspection and testing services across Australia

30/10/2024

Applus+ and Four Hills Group have formed a partnership that brings together the strengths and expertise of both companies to deliver high-quality inspection and testing services across Australia. This partnership is the first of its kind for Applus+ and leads the way in developing Indigenous-led ventures in the mining, construction, civil, and oil and gas sectors.

The partnership, namely Inspection Partners Pty Ltd, will create employment opportunities to enable Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to explore meaningful and prosperous career paths in the testing and inspection area of the construction and mining industries. This strategic alliance takes advantage of the growing demand in the industry and utilises Four Hills’ extensive Indigenous expertise and strong contacts in the construction, civil and mining sectors, as well as First Nations communities and individuals. Moreover, Applus+ can draw on their long-standing knowledge and expertise in the testing, inspection and certification services also within these industries.

Inspection Partners has adopted and implemented the Aboriginal Economic Participation Standard designed, focussing on cultural safety, management systems, Aboriginal employment and training, Aboriginal procurement, Aboriginal business capacity building, and community.

Collectively, we are not only fostering new ideas and advancements but also advocating for equal participation and inclusion in the field, creating a path towards a fair and prosperous future for all individuals engaged.

The board and leadership of Inspection Partners is made up of Ashley Mesch, Judd Harris and Adam Alessandrino. Ashley Mesch is a proud descendant of the Luunga, Kija and Gooniyandi people of the East Kimberley region, with more than 18 years’ experience in the mining, oil and  gas  industries. He is the Director of Four Hills Group and CEO of Emu Nest. Judd Harris, a Tjiwarl person from the Northan Goldfields Region and Managing Director of Indigenous Management Group, joins Inspection Partners as a Non-executive Director.  Adam Alessandrino, the current Executive Vice President for Applus+ in Australia and across the Pacific, also joins the Inspection Partners board.

Inspection Partners will be operationally led by Rob Old in the role of Executive General Manager. Rob brings over 20 years of experience in Business Unit Management, Project Management, and Superintendant roles in the energy sector and will be responsible for the growth of Inspection Partners in Australia.
