Applus+ Awarded Prelude Contractor of the Month

It is important, therefore, to recognise the exceptional work of our employees, who truly embody the Applus+ passion for safety, quality and innovation.

    In April 2018, Applus+ was selected as “Prelude Contractor of the Month”. The Prelude Project represents the first deployment of Shell’s Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) technology, and is designed to facilitate the process of extracting, liquefying and storing gas at sea. Prelude is located approximately 475 km north-east of Broome, Western Australia.

    The Applus+ team was awarded the “Prelude Contractor of the Month” due to:
    • Safe and secure storage, handling and labelling of radioactive sources.
    • Effective communication of upcoming radioactive activity to the project team.
    • Excellent use of barricades and signage to demarcate radioactive areas (including entry points into areas, using remote ladders, staircases, etc.).
    • Good coordination with the FLNG Radiation Safety Officer.
     
    As well as gaining this deserved recognition for a proactive approach to safety, the team was awarded a cheque, which was donated to Cancer Council. This is the only charity in Australia to provide a variety of services across all aspects of cancer, from undertaking research to providing support. 
    Congratulations to the Applus+ team members for their magnificent work on Prelude – their hard work and effort is a testament to their commitment.
