Applus+ introduces comprehensive turnaround management in successful Aurizon project

A critical path challenge was presented to Applus+ with the Client’s in-service fuel tanks needing to be taken offline for inspection and maintenance work. The fuel tanks are essential for round-the-clock locomotive operations. Applus+ was engaged as the Principal Contractor for the tank inspection process, which included managing and coordinating every aspect from planning and taking the tank out of service to its reassembly. This included sourcing and managing subcontractors for tank decommissioning, degassing, cleaning, waste disposal, and providing standby safety services.

Key achievements of the project include:

• Comprehensive Management: Applus+ handled the entire process, from initial decommissioning to inspection and final reassembly, providing a seamless experience for Aurizon.
