Applus+ served as the exclusive provider of contractor Quality Assurance (QA) Services at a base plant operation situated in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. The scope of services encompassed quality assurance activities spanning from the extraction phase to the mining operations, as well as during the significant upgrader turnaround process.
In conjunction with our quality assurance services, Applus+ served as the sole provider of SCAR (Small Controlled Area Radiography) technology during the significant fall turnaround at the Base plant. Our proprietary solution, which we hold the patent for, resulted in an advancement of the outage schedule by several days. This enabled our client to expedite the completion of critical path work fronts, surpassing their anticipated outcomes in terms of our service delivery.
Applus+ was assigned the responsibility of delivering contractor quality assurance (QA) services for the operations of the base plant. Additionally, we were specifically required to mobilize a team of over 150 highly skilled API inspectors to cover all areas of the site. As a result of our exclusive staff allocation strategy, Applus+ successfully accomplished this task with ease. Our meticulous planning further facilitated a flawless deployment of personnel throughout the entire region.
Applus+ was contracted to provide its unique SCAR RT technology to important work areas during the fall around at our client’s Base plant operations.
