Applus+ IMA Dresden

IMA Materialforschung und Anwendungstechnik GmbH (in short, IMA Dresden) was founded in Dresden in 1993 and, in May 2021, it became part of the Applus+ Laboratories Division.

Applus+ IMA Dresden is an internationally recognised testing, monitoring and certification body for manufacturers and their entire supplier chains in industries such as aerospace, railway, automotive, medical technology, wind power and piping systems. The German laboratory specialises in mechanical and environmental testing for strength and durability, whether at the material, component or full-scale structure level.

Applus+ IMA Dresden’s experts perform tests against set standards (approval and certification tests) as well as in experimental investigations, working to speed up new developments, differentiate products and validate them for market access.

Boasting 10,000m m² of test space, Applus+ IMA Dresden’s facilities are large enough to perform full-scale tests of products as large as complete aeroplanes and rockets.

Accreditations

All relevant testing laboratories are accredited by the DAkkS according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and are authorized to modify testing procedures as well as newly developing them.

For aerospace, Applus+ IMA Dresden is specifically accredited to NADCAP for "Metallic Materials Testing" and "Non-Metallic Materials Testing", each with merit status.

In addition, it holds accreditations and recognitions specifically relevant for construction products testing and medical devices testing.

Applus+ IMA Dresden‘s quality management system is certified according to DIN EN 9100 and also according to the environmental management system ISO 14001.
