Enertis Applus+ highly specialised solar consulting team participated as independent technical advisor for BNZ’s first multi-country Total IPP Financing (TIPPF) of a solar PV portfolio of more than 1.7 GW in Southern Europe.

The financing, one of the largest in the European renewable energy market, will enable BNZ to complete its solar photovoltaic energy projects in Spain, Italy, and Portugal.

With a track record of 300 GW, Enertis Applus+ has an extensive expertise in providing technical advisory services for renewable energy projects in more than 65 countries.

Enertis Applus+ team of engineers and consultants provided support to BNZ and the financial institutions to ensure that the projects are technically sound.

Enertis Applus+ carried out a technical due diligence report, ensuring compliance with technical regulations and quality standards while identifying any potential risks. We assessed key aspects such as site characteristics, design, equipment, energy production estimates, permits, and grid connections.

The TIPPF totals over €680M, comprised of a €420M green loan financing and up to €260M Holdco financing facility. BNZ secured the senior debt facility from a club of lenders comprising European Investment Bank (EIB), ABN AMRO, Intesa Sanpaolo, NatWest, SMBC, and Bankinter, who have placed their full trust in the robustness of BNZ’s strategic assets and the company’s pipeline. The Holdco financing facility will be provided by funds managed by Ares Management’s Infrastructure Debt and US Direct Lending strategies, with Alter Domus acting as agent.
