Applus+ has implemented Drive NDT, a cloud-based management software that integrates all NDT inspection methods, in a wind energy project to reduce the delivery time of non-destructive testing (NDT) reports and improve the effectiveness of data book compilation, thereby enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
The challenge we faced was to provide real-time report delivery after the completion of each non-destructive test carried out on the project, to speed up data delivery and improving project management and efficiency.
The Applus+ team in Brazil identified this issue and brought it to the company’s innovations team. The solution introduced was Drive NDT, an innovative technology that had already been successfully used in other Applus+ facilities around the world. Drive NDT has revolutionized the way wind turbine inspection reports are generated and delivered, replacing the traditional manual data compilation method with an integrated digital system. During each inspection, the inspector uses a tablet to record results in real time, allowing for immediate report generation upon test completion.
