Some of these services have been implemented in the last six years at the Andella Wind Park in Spain.
The client hired Barlovento Applus+ as a technical advisor for the technical due diligence (TDD) of the acquisition of a 50 MW wind farm when the project was in the mid-development stage.
This TDD was carried out in late 2018 and early 2019 and identified the project's main risks, mainly arising from the permitting process, especially environmental authorization and appropriation necessary for the construction of 220 kV overhead lines. The due diligence enabled early identification of significant risks, allowing the client to focus on critical issues.
Barlovento Applus+ also provided wind resource assessments to ensure the area's energy potential and continuous wind measurement campaigns incorporating new resources such as a new Met Mast and a LIDAR system.
Other services included support in reviewing the TSA (Transitional Service Agreement) to confirm the obligations and rights of each party involved and the scope of stipulated services; environmental assessment to identify and mitigate adverse environmental impacts, protect local biodiversity, and ensure compliance with legal regulations; support in the selection and performance measurement of the wind turbines; and the definition of the layout to maximize the capture of wind energy, guarantee the stability and security of the assets and optimize connectivity.
