Applus+ develops pioneering projects that innovate all stages of renewable energy generation

Thanks to our many years of experience in the renewables sector, we are constantly driving innovation forward in our multiple areas of expertise and providing added value for our clients through concrete actions across a multitude of disciplines. 

With regard to wind energy, our laboratories in Spain and Germany test the blades and other structural components of wind turbines, as well as the advanced metallic and composite materials used in their manufacture.  

Furthermore, our specialists in The Netherlands have developed a specific installation for testing tungsten tubes, part of the wind turbine, which are able to withstand high temperatures and pressures of up to 500 bar.  

In the solar photovoltaic industry, Applus+ specialises in property engineering. This includes source inspection, engineering services, quality control and supervision during the construction and implementation phases. Enertis Applus+, one of the Group's latest acquisitions and a key player in our commitment to renewables, has recently carried out inspection services with its mobile laboratory on more than 10,000 photovoltaic modules in Mexico.  

When it comes to green hydrogen and energy storage projects, we are participating in the first pilot projects to be developed in Spain for key customers in this sector, including the construction of a green hydrogen generation plant in Barcelona. We have also participated in large green hydrogen projects at a European level, including the provision of advanced, non-destructive testing services in the construction of two new hydrogen pipelines in the Netherlands.  

In addition, we sponsored the conference dedicated to green hydrogen, Energyear H2, and we are also part of the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2), an organisation which promotes and drives the technological and industrial development of hydrogen technologies in Spain, so that their positive impact also reaches the Spanish society and economy.
