Applus+ executes a road management project in Chile with 3D modeling

04/10/2024

Applus+ has led the execution of a project aimed at transforming the road infrastructure in the commune of Futrono, Chile, by designing a bypass that serves as an efficient alternative to the current urban access to Route T-551. The plan includes the construction of a two-way single carriageway with an integrated bike lane at road level, extending over approximately 3 kilometers.

The project will also cover the analysis of solutions to facilitate pedestrian and cyclist movement, as well as the implementation of 3D models using the BIM methodology to ensure effective coordination among all involved parties.

Once completed, the bypass is expected to significantly improve mobility within Futrono and contribute to the region's socio-economic development. Applus+ is committed to maintaining open and transparent communication, regularly reporting on the progress and results of the project to technical bodies, regional authorities, and the local community.

The main challenges of the project include managing access to farmlands and obtaining community consensus, which will be addressed through public participation and strict occupational safety measures.

The project is the result of a pre-investment study conducted by the Consortium between 2021 and 2022. Its primary objective is to improve the operational conditions, safety, accessibility, and mobility for all users.

Applus+ offers a wide range of road management services, from road design to construction supervision and road inspection. We work on projects that have a positive impact on the communities where we operate, contributing to the transformation of cities through innovative and sustainable initiatives.
