Applus+ in Italy will provide construction site management services for a global leader in sustainable energy development

Over a period of two years, Applus+ will provide a quality assurance and quality control site supervisor in Castelvetrano, Sicily. During this time, Applus+ will provide support to the owner project manager and site manager of a 50 MW photovoltaic plant throughout its construction and commissioning phases.

Applus+ will extend its assistance to the client by offering comprehensive QA/QC services during the construction process. This includes:

•          Providing site surveillance by specialist engineers and inspectors (both pre-commissioning, as well as during manufacture, construction and installation phases) to ensure quality compliance in the areas of construction management, supervision and engineering.

•          Providing detailed reports on the outcomes of supervisions, along with recommendations to address any area of non-conformance by the contractor.

Our client holds a 100% stake in this ground-mounted solar project, known as the Solar PV Park, located in Castelvetrano, western Sicily. With a capacity of 50.3 MW, the project is expected to generate 101.496 MWh of electricity to offset 70,255.3t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

An Applus+ supervisor is already on-site, providing technical support throughout the Project, which is expected to finish at the end of 2024, just in time for the solar park to go into commercial operation in 2025.
