We have a highly experienced multidisciplinary team capable of providing optimal technical solutions for the deployment of 4G and 5G networks, both public and private, as well as for the installation of fibre optics in sections of railways. At Applus+, we ensure that each phase of the project is executed with the utmost precision and efficiency, starting with the selection of the best technical solution in layout and budgeting, licensing and permit management. We then carry out supervision and quality control during the installation and execution phase of the work. Finally, we measure and verify the coverage along the entire route, up to the delivery of the complete project for the construction of telephone base stations.
We also offer coverage studies and designs for indoor spaces, ensuring that travellers in enclosed areas enjoy uninterrupted connectivity. We specialise in the preliminary design, optimisation and final design of wireless networks for all technologies, including 4G, 5G (including millimetre bands, public safety), Wi-Fi, IoT, LoRa and CBRS. We also design and optimise networks integrating components such as repeaters, passive and active DAS, and small cells, adapting to the specific needs of the railway environment.
We ensure that we provide the customer with full visibility of the process (from design through construction and installation to acceptance and integration), ensuring regulatory compliance and avoiding budget deviations. This approach also enables a smooth transition to operations and maintenance, ensuring that all documentation is properly managed and recorded.
We have our own measurement equipment and a highly skilled technical team to perform quality of service studies on mobile networks. These studies include the measurement and analysis of coverage on trains, along the entire route of the journey, and of fixed railway units, identifying grey areas, areas of poor quality or degradation, and of service cuts or dropped calls, which affect the communication of passengers and workers.
Thanks to the implementation of these technologies, networks are optimised, and coverage is improved to guarantee constant, high-quality communication, which is vital for the safe and efficient operation of trains.
