The Saudi Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services has established the Saudi Road Research and Accelerated Pavement Test Centre (SRRAPTC) to improve road quality and performance per Saudi 2030 vision. As of January last year, Applus+ has been assigned a three-year contract to carry out all road research and studies for the SRRAPTC.
Applus+ provides the centre with qualified professionals with extensive experience in various fields, including civil engineering, testing and instrumentation, and administration. In addition, we develop manuals, conduct workshops, and prepare technical papers for journal publication as part of our knowledge transfer efforts.
Moreover, the centre boasts the latest technologies, including Heavy Vehicle Simulator and pavement test sections such as reclaimed asphalt pavement, crumb rubber modifier, and recycled concrete aggregate, helping road managers to make informed decisions and design durable, sustainable, and efficient road networks. Together, these integrated efforts empower the SRRAPTC to deliver high-quality research and studies for developing safe and reliable roads in Saudi Arabia.
