Applus+ provides vendor inspection services to ensure the quality of supplies in a mining project

30/09/2024

Applus+ provides project management and factory inspection services to ensure the quality of supplies for a major mining company. This service is offered internationally, covering multiple locations in Chile, the United States, China, Germany, Brazil, Spain, South Korea, Peru, Israel, Mexico, and Finland.

The main objective of this project is to provide vendor inspection services to ensure the quality of supplies and minimize losses due to the arrival of defective materials at the worksite. Key services include assistance with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), manufacturing inspection for quality assurance, and support for pre-shipment inspections.

This project addresses the need for a representative at the manufacturer’s facilities who keeps the client informed about manufacturing progress, possible deviations, and compliance with quality standards.

During the project, Applus+ will carry out essential tasks such as verifying safety and sustainability conditions at the manufacturer’s facilities, reviewing the necessary documentation, ensuring that approved documents are up to date, and meeting the deadlines of the execution schedule agreed with the supplier.

One of the main risks associated with these types of services is the possibility of equipment arriving on-site that does not meet the client's requirements. To mitigate this risk, Applus+ recommends continuous monitoring of key supplies and seeks client approval to conduct more frequent inspections. This is expected to reduce the arrival of defective equipment on-site, ensuring the efficiency and quality of the mining company’s projects.

Project progress and results will be communicated through monthly meetings with the client, where updates on purchase orders, inspection results, and any relevant information regarding future assignments will be shared.
