Applus+ has played a prominent role in the technical supervision of the project for the construction of the 220 kV Transmission Line Derivation L-2264, between the Ishcayucro and Raurapata substations.
The scope of this project encompasses the construction of a single-circuit 220 kV transmission line and a new GIS 220/33/22.9 kV substation in Raurapata. The line, with a length of 28.3 km, uses ACSR 591mm2 conductor and lattice steel structures. The substation includes line and transformer bays, transformer and 33kV line cells, along with a communication system via optical fiber.
The Technical Inspection of Work (TIO) of these electrical installations carried out by Applus+ aims to manage and control the appropriate development of the project during its construction phase. This involves ensuring compliance with contractual conditions, technical specifications, and approved plans, in line with the client's sustainability policy. The TIO does not only focus on technical aspects but encompasses the project as a whole to contribute decisively to its success.
The main objective is to ensure the correct execution and compliance with quality standards in the 220 kV Transmission Line Derivation L-2264 S.E. Ishcayucro - S.E. Raurapata. Additionally, it seeks to meet the future electricity needs of the mining unit.
The project covers areas in the districts of Yanahuanca, province of Daniel Alcides Carrión, Pasco Region; Oyón, Lima department; and San Miguel de Cauri, province of Lauricocha, Huánuco department, in Peru. The start date was August 8, 2023, and the expected completion date is April 8, 2025.
This project originates from the planned expansion of the mining unit's facilities, which led to an increase in electricity consumption.
The ITO will include activities such as administrative and labor control, scheduling analysis, quality assurance and quality control, and environmental safety. Effective progress and proper execution of the works within the established deadlines are expected to be achieved.
Risks such as adverse weather conditions, delays in detailed engineering, social risks, and material theft will be mitigated through preventive measures and proactive management. Communication will be carried out through weekly and monthly reports to the client, ensuring constant transparency in the project's progress and achievements.
This is a strategic project for both our client and the country of Peru. Participation in this project will strengthen our relationship with the client and Applus+'s presence in the power sector in the country.
