Applus+ has consolidated its role as a strategic partner of a major telecommunications company in Colombia, winning two initial contracts covering the provision of Radio Frequency (RF) optimisation services nationwide for the period 2023-2025.
Radio Frequency (RF) optimisation technology is implemented in three key phases. The first, known as the "Drive Test", involves field teams in vehicles equipped with specialised devices. These perform cellular signal measurements in the field and record the data in the customer's private cloud.
In the second stage, called "Post-processing", RF engineers analyse the collected data to suggest adjustments to system configurations, aiming to improve the technical parameters of the communication network.
The last phase, "Riggering", involves specialised technicians working at height on the telecommunication towers to adjust antennas and execute the recommended redesigns.
Since 2016, Applus+ has been successfully collaborating on this type of project, with around 70 professionals and technicians supported by a fleet of 20 vehicles specially equipped for these tasks throughout the country.
Overcoming geographical and access challenges, Applus+ has implemented digital tools to optimise daily planning and control, strengthening its position as a key partner for the telecommunications company.
This effective collaboration and operational adaptability have led to Applus+ being recognised as a 'Best Collaboration Supplier' for two consecutive years. This recognition, awarded to a select group of more than 300 suppliers in Latin America, highlights Applus+'s exceptional contribution to the supply ecosystem of telecommunications companies.
