Applus+ oversees the implementation of the PACMA social and environmental program for a client in the hydrocarbons sector in Mexico

    Applus+, a global leader in inspection, certification, and testing services, provides field operation services for the community and environmental support program (PACMA) of a major client in the hydrocarbons sector in Mexico.

    This project arises from the client's need to strengthen its relationship with the communities where it operates, promoting their economic, social, and environmental development.

    Applus+ offers supervision services as a promoter of PACMA, responsible for analyzing budget viability, reviewing unit prices, and supervising the execution of the programs, works, and actions (PROA) in the field.

    The PROA are aimed at vulnerable groups and can include actions such as the construction of mobile medical units, schools, or aquaculture farms, and the development of water purification projects, public lighting, or ecological toilets, among others.

    The main objective of the project is to validate, integrate, supervise, and evaluate the actions executed through PACMA to contribute to the human development of the communities and maintain the client's "Social License to Operate." Initiated in March 2023, the project is set to conclude on December 31, 2024, and is carried out in several states of the Mexican Republic where the client has oil influence, with notable offices in Poza Rica (Veracruz), Villahermosa (Tabasco), and Ciudad del Carmen (Campeche).

    Specific activities include technical assistance to the PACMA promoter and field operation services, ranging from updating municipal diagnostics to supervising and validating the execution of the PROA in the field.

    With this project, Applus+ deepens its presence in sustainability services and the possibility of offering technical support in other areas of the client's business. In turn, the client gains a solid corporate social responsibility strategy, contributing to community development and ensuring operational continuity.

    The expected outcome of this project is the consolidation and successful execution of all supervised PROAs, the strengthening of the relationship with the client, and the generation of a positive impact on the benefited communities.

    Communication and dissemination of progress and results are carried out through emails, weekly meetings, and a dedicated information repository, ensuring efficient and transparent project management.
