Applus+ participates in global quality control project for a desalination plant in Chile

10/07/2024

Applus+ announces its participation in a global vendor surveillance project conducted in various countries, which has required the inspection and quality control of pipes manufactured in Greece, coated with FBE and 3LPE in Saudi Arabia, and bent in Germany, until reaching their final destination at a desalination plant in Chile.

The service, fundamental to the construction of the plant, has been designed to ensure that all stages of pipe manufacturing and coating meet the highest quality standards. The project has required a meticulous and detailed approach, encompassing multiple international locations.

Applus+ has provided quality assurance services through visits to pipe, elbow and API 5L coating manufacturing plants in Greece, Saudi Arabia, and Germany to ensure compliance with technical specifications.

The project arose from the client's need to guarantee quality and efficiency in their operations, particularly in the construction of the desalination plant in Chile, a critical water infrastructure for the region's water supply. The objective is to reduce and eliminate rework and ensure that the coated pipes arrive in optimal conditions for assembly and commissioning, thereby reducing delays.

Applus+ plans to communicate and disseminate the project's progress and results through detailed reports and periodic updates to clients and stakeholders. Additionally, photos and videos documenting the project's progress will be shared to provide a comprehensive and transparent view of the work performed.

With this project, Applus+ reaffirms its commitment to excellence and quality in all its services, standing out as a reliable and efficient partner in the global inspection and quality control industry.
