The Applus+ Wind Services team is participating in the construction of the Llanos del Viento wind farm, located 34 kilometers east of the city of Antofagasta. The new wind farm will be connected to the National Electric System (SEN) at the O'Higgins electrical substation through a 220kV high-voltage line.
On the project, which is in the development phase, Applus+ is responsible for the management of the quality control at the works, delivered by the different contractors. A team of 18 professionals will be employed to cover all of the project’s execution stages: civil, electrical, and safety and environment, and Applus+ will provide the technical services for 18 months until the wind farm is commissioned.
When completed, the wind farm will generate a maximum power of 160MW, representing 15% of the wind-power generation in Chile and providing clean energy to millions of Chilean homes.
