Applus+, a global leader in engineering solutions, has been awarded a contract by a major client to develop the basic and detailed engineering for 28 medium and high voltage electrical substations in the Colombian Caribbean region, as part of the Acta 5 Project.

The main objective of this project is to create advanced designs for the construction, modernization, and expansion of substations that are crucial for the expansion of the electrical network in the region. The engineering services provided by Applus+ include both electrical and civil disciplines, applying advanced technologies such as LiDAR for topographic surveys and soil resistivity studies.

This project arises from the client's intention to make strategic investments in its infrastructure, aiming to improve the reliability and quality of the electric power service in its area of influence. By applying innovative 3D modeling methodologies like BIM, Applus+ involvement helps minimize errors during the construction phase, ensuring efficiency and reducing timelines in the development of the engineering work.

This project not only strengthens Applus+ position in the high-voltage electrical network sector in the Caribbean but also significantly contributes to bolstering the electrical grid in a strategic region for Colombia’s economic development. The successful completion of this project will allow Applus+ to continue offering high-value engineering solutions, consolidating its leadership in the industry.

Progress and results of the project will be communicated continuously, highlighting the milestones achieved and the innovations implemented, prioritizing transparency and a commitment to excellence.

With this project, Applus+ reaffirms its commitment to providing engineering solutions that contribute to the sustainable and efficient development of energy infrastructure in Colombia and throughout the Caribbean region.
