Applus+ collaborates with a major client in the construction of a 50-kilometer gas pipeline. This gas transportation system aims to supply natural gas from the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal to multiple users along the pipeline route, marking a significant milestone in the energy infrastructure of the Dominican Republic.
In this project, Applus+ provided vendor inspection services for the construction of the 20” diameter gas pipeline, both bare and coated, at a plant located in India. Additionally, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) inspections were conducted on five pressure-regulating valves in Mexico and a launch trap in the United States. These services were crucial to ensure that each project component met the highest quality and safety standards.
Our main objective was to ensure inspection and quality at every stage of the process, including supervising the construction schedule, verifying the preparation of materials and resources, inspecting the manufacturing of the pipeline and other elements at the pipe mill, supervising the packaging and transportation to the port, and validating Cathodic Disbondment Tests (CDT) and FAT tests.
The implementation of these measures ensured the integrity and reliability of the gas pipeline, providing a robust and safe infrastructure for the supply of natural gas and improving efficiency in the country, contributing to sustainable development.
Applus+ involvement in this project reflects our commitment to excellence in inspection, certification, and quality control. We are dedicated to overcoming technical and logistical challenges to deliver projects that not only meet international standards but also exceed our client's expectations.
