Applus+ starts a new cathodic protection maintenance project on a gas pipeline in Brazil

The scope of the project includes various activities to ensure the integrity of the cathodic protection system. The Applus+ team will verify and maintain CPS components' functionality, such as rectifiers, galvanic drains, electrical isolation joints, and test points. Additionally, they will perform ON/OFF measurements of pipe-to-soil potential and coupon-to-soil potential, especially in areas with electrical interferences and crossings with transmission lines.

To ensure the project's success, Applus+ will also perform the maintenance of test points, and repair damaged electrical cables, welds on pipes, and cathodic protection coupons. Furthermore, they will inspect voltage rectifiers, and develop detailed schedules, work plans, and reports to monitor progress.
