As part of a key project to expand and improve the electrical infrastructure for a major Chilean company dedicated to the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity, Applus+ has been contracted to provide a comprehensive service to support the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of electrical equipment intended for various ongoing expansion projects. This project, which includes everything from certifying new suppliers to inspecting manufacturing quality, aims to ensure a continuous and high-quality power supply in strategic regions.
The project, which began in May 2024 and will continue until April 2026, involves inspections in multiple locations, including China, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay, France, Italy, Portugal, the United States, Spain, Germany, Saudi Arabia, India, and Egypt.
Applus+ vendor surveillance services include FAT support, supplier evaluation, pre-shipment inspection, and project expediting. These processes are essential to ensure that the electrical equipment meets the technical specifications agreed upon by clients and suppliers, which is fundamental for guaranteeing a stable and efficient power supply.
One of the primary challenges of this service is the limited scope and time allocated for the complete inspection of supplies, meaning Applus+ inspectors can only assure the quality of work conducted during their presence at the client’s facilities. Managing these inspections requires meticulous planning through constant and clear communication with the client, informing them of scope limitations and the need, in each case, to be present at critical manufacturing milestones.
The project will ensure that FATs are carried out thoroughly, meeting the technical requirements and quality standards established between the supplier and the client. Additionally, this service is expected to significantly enhance the reliability of the power supply in the involved projects, thereby strengthening the energy infrastructure in various regions across the country.
This project highlights Applus+ commitment to quality and excellence in the global energy industry, ensuring that each inspected electrical component meets the highest industry standards.
