The fight against global warming and the improvement of the air quality of our cities are increasingly important challenges. Mobility is one of the main contributors to the use of fossil fuels so it has become a key area to implement sustainable solutions.
In this regard, the city council of Valencia has put its trust in a consortium formed by Applus+, together with another company in the sector, to provide engineering services, site management, consulting and other complementary activities to develop this project, to supervise and monitor the provision of the Management and Control System of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in Valencia.
This initiative to create low-emission zones in Spain has been developed within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resiliency Plan (RTRP) seeking to promote ecological transition and digitisation, among other issues.
The contract will have a duration of 24 months and include a wide range of tasks and activities. Firstly, Applus+ will provide the engineering services required to define the facilities in detail, as well as other services related to the Management and Control System of the Low Emission Zone. This involves producing the technical documentation required and ensuring the quality of the services and the development, as well as their compliance with the regulations. In addition, Applus+ team of professionals will be in charge of onsite management to supervise and monitor how the various services are implemented, ensuring that they comply with the applicable regulations and the requirements set out in the project. Moreover, the consultancy and technical assistance services will provide support and advice on complementary and transversal issues derived from implementing the Low Emission Zone, such as processing personal data and the communications campaign.
During the two years of the project, Applus+ will work closely with the municipal authorities and other relevant public bodies to ensure that the Low Emission Zone in the City of Valencia is implemented successfully.
