Applus+ makes its contribution to a secure gas supply in Germany. With our Non-Destructive testing teams from Hamburg and Heide, we were commissioned to take over the quality assurance of the welded seam connection of Liquefied Natural Gas transport lines in Brunsbüttel.
In order to ensure a safe and trouble-free operation of transport of the lines, every weld seam is checked and evaluated for irregularities by our specialists with the help of the latest testing technology. Only then, further measures for the commissioning of the lines may be taken.
Then, the liquefied gas arrives in Brunsbüttel by ship and flows from the pier through the three-kilometer-long pipeline to the distribution station of the natural gas network. A new 55 km long transmission line will then be laid from Brunsbüttel to Hamburg in order to cover the increased demand for gas via this route.
We also take over the quality assurance and quality control of the welded joints for this line and thus contribute our part to the energy security of the future.
