ADAS, passive and active safety testing and assessment activities related to ASEAN NCAP will be carried out exclusively at IDIADA’s facilities when performed in Europe or in the United States.
IDIADA has been officially appointed as the sole and exclusive laboratory in Europe and the United States for conducting ASEAN NCAP testing for new assessment programs on vehicles aimed at the Southeast Asian region.
IDIADA’s extensive experience, with over 20 years working in the field of ADAS, passive and active safety testing activities related to worldwide standards, has been key for the agreement to come to fruition.
IDIADA’s headquarters near Barcelona in Spain is already an officially accredited Euro NCAP laboratory, while IDIADA´s safety lab in California, USA, holds a contract to conduct official U.S. NCAP testing.
IDIADA’s Director for Body & Passive Safety, Joaquim Huguet said “I am proud to announce the ASEAN NCAP accreditation of IDIADA’s test facilities in Europe and the USA. Our commitment to support the development of safer vehicles is global. This new accreditation also reflects our commitment towards the ASEAN region, where IDIADA is established in Malaysia and Thailand.”
The agreement was made effective on August 10th through a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the ASEAN NCAP’s Secretary-General, (Ir. Dr.) Adjunct Prof. Khairil Anwar Abu Kassim, Joaquim Huguet, and IDIADA USA Director, Carlos García.
