The Applus+ Energy & Industry Division in the Czech Republic will undertake a non-destructive testing (NDT) project for 150km of pipeline, delivering services such as Rotoscan, Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD), Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), divided into two contract lots. Applus+ will then certify these NDT methods according to CSN EN ISO 912.
The Applus+ team will deliver the calibration blocks of the project, as well as the technical procedure.
The project will be jointly managed by the Czech and Netherlands teams. The Czech team will perform all of the RT, UT, TOFD, PT and MT on the main line, together with tie-ins and subsequent repairs, while the Netherlands team will undertake all of the Rotoscan work. Each automated ultrasonic testing (AUT) unit (Rotoscan) will be operated by a Dutch operator and a Czech scanner. The additional manual techniques (RT, UT, TOFD, LPT, MT) will be provided by three level II Czech technicians. Given the regular rotation, the same team must be available for replacement every two months.
Winning this project strengthens Applus+ service provision to the European onshore pipeline market.
