Applus+ acquires KARCO, a vehicle passive safety testing and engineering company in the United States

    Applus+, has acquired a majority position of KARCO Engineering, LLC
     Madrid, 9th May 2018. Applus+, has acquired a majority position of KARCO Engineering, LLC., a company based in the city of Adelanto, California, which provides engineering and testing services, mainly in the field of passive safety for the Automotive industry.
     
    KARCO is an independent crash test laboratory and automotive research centre devoted to providing research and development, design evaluation, compliance, certification, and highway testing services. The company has a talented and experienced team of experts that have participated in thousands of tests, spanning over 35 years of automotive research, crash testing and evaluation.
     
    This acquisition is an important step forward in the Group´s strategy for Applus+ IDIADA to expand its geographic reach by strengthening its position into the United States especially in the fields of active and passive safety testing and engineering according to US requirements. Furthermore, there will be mutual benefit from the sharing of technology and ideas.
     
    Applus+ IDIADA has been established in the United States in the Detroit area since 2011, providing engineering consultancy services to the automotive industry.
