Provides specialist services to ensure the integrity, safety and reliability of industrial facilities and equipment as well as compliance with the European Seveso Directive on the prevention of, preparedness for and response to industrial accidents
Applus+, a global testing, inspection and certification company, strengthens its engineering,
industrial-consultancy and
environmental-consultancy services with the acquisition of Trámites, Informes y Proyectos (TIPs), which will be joining the Energy & Industry Division.
TIPs has 20 years’ experience and a high level of technical know-how in its field. Its specialist, 14-strong workforce is split between its Barcelona and Murcia offices. The company operates in the oil & gas, pharmaceutical, chemical and logistics industries and is a specialist service provider for the EU’s Seveso Directive, which covers the prevention of, preparedness for and response to major industrial accidents.
As such, it has a wide-ranging service portfolio that includes undertaking studies and producing reports on industrial projects (risk analysis, major incidents, emergency planning, occupational health and safety, environmental-impact assessments, etc.), as well as issuing technical documentation, operating permits and so forth.
“Combining the capacities of our two companies will mean that we can offer a wider, more comprehensive and more differentiated range of engineering, industrial-consultancy and environmental-consultancy services”, explains Ramón Fernández Armas, Executive Vice President of the Energy & Industry Division.
