Applus+ celebrates Mental Health Day 2024 with initiatives to promote workplace wellbeing

These initiatives include counselling sessions, workshops on stress management, emotional regulation and mindfulness techniques. Additionally, we provide online resources and access to mental health professionals to help employees build resilience, manage stress and reduce anxiety. 

In line with our commitment to raising awareness of mental health issues, Applus+ has celebrated Mental Health Day for the past three years at our operations in Australia. In 2023, we introduced the "R U OK?" initiative, encouraging employees to check in on one another and start conversations about mental wellbeing. Simply asking a colleague, "Hey, are you okay?" can make a significant difference, creating a more supportive and uplifting work environment. 

Julianne Kininjjew, Applus+ HSQE Senior Advisor at Karratha Gas Plant, shared her experience organising the Here to Hear Day at a major LNG plant in Australia: “I was able to witness first-hand the profound impact the event had in raising awareness of mental health and supporting our team during a time of significant organisational change. We launched conversation topics and encouraged attendees to discover new things about their colleagues. This initiative not only sparked meaningful discussions but also promoted team wellbeing, in line with our commitment to social responsibility and sustainable practices.”
