Applus+ Experts: the positive approach of Luis Arellano, Country Manager in Chile for Vehicle Inspection Services

With a solid background as a Civil Industrial Engineer complemented with an MBA, Luis began his career as a Project Engineer in the gambling industry, and his commitment and dedication led him to achieve leadership and strategy roles, becoming a General Manager in several corporations. In 2014, with over 15 years of experience, Luis joined Applus+ to lead the vehicle inspection business in Chile. "The challenge of leading a solid and committed company and contributing to future goals" are some of the catalysts that prompted him to take on the role of Country Manager, a position he holds to this day. His responsibilities include meeting financial targets, ensuring the operation of the inspection centres and driving the company's growth in Chile.

Versatility, effective leadership and cross-functional communication are skills that Luis considers fundamental for a team to function: he fosters a culture where everyone plays a key role and through which they offer opinions and proposals for improvement. He deems it crucial to build a personal vision of the people he works with, freeing himself from bias or prejudice: listening to the opinions of others and questioning himself have been vital to nurture his creativity and to understand the needs and concerns of his colleagues.
