The Energy & Industry Division of Applus+ has obtained the EC PCA certification for measuring acoustic insulation in Catalonia, pursuant to the Spanish Royal Decree 176/2009 passing into law the Protection Against Acoustic Pollution Act 16/2002 of June 28. Applus+ is now authorised by the Accreditation Office of Collaborating Entities of the Department of Territory and Sustainability of the Catalan Government to operate as an Entity for the Control of Acoustic Pollution Prevention.
The scope of this new certification, pursuant to the UNE-EN ISO 16283-1:2015, UNE-EN ISO 16283-2:2019 and UNE-EN ISO 16283-3:2016 standards detailed in the Technical Building Code (CTE, its acronym in Spanish), includes on site measurements of acoustic insulation for airborne noise between venues, airborne noise of elements on the front of buildings, and on site measurements of the acoustic insulation of floors from the noise caused by impacts.
In order to obtain this certification it was necessary to comply with the ISO/IEC 17020 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards, as well as the standards of quality and management set by the Catalan Government, and the technical requirements of the staff and the measurement equipment.
