The collaborative effort between Statista and TIME aims to set a benchmark for corporate sustainability, promoting transparency and accountability in the business world. By highlighting the leaders in sustainability, the ranking encourages other companies to integrate sustainable practices into their core strategies.

The selection process for this ranking began with a comprehensive review of over 5,000 of the world's largest and most influential corporations. Factors such as revenue, market capitalisation and public prominence were pivotal in the initial assessment. From this pool, organisations underwent a detailed evaluation process to identify the top 500 most sustainable entities.
