In October 2019, Applus+ was awarded the contract to provide technical assistance services in the field of occupational risk prevention as part of the project to maintain and repair the central tower at the Noor Ouarzazate III thermosolar plant in Morocco.
This thermosolar plant has a gross generation capacity of 150 MW and a storage system that can hold 7.5 hours’ worth of production. It is capable of meeting the demand of some 120,000 households and prevents more than 130,000 tonnes of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere each year.
The Applus+ team is charged with coordinating and overseeing health and safety (with technicians from both Spain and Morocco) during the works on the central tower, which involve companies from various countries.
Applus+ has been working on earlier phases of this project since 2014, providing NDT services and electrical testing at the Noor I plant.
Applus+ renewable energy services also include energy storage solutions and solar services such as solar consulting, solar engineering, and quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
