Endesa relies again on Applus + to carry out the high voltage networks inspection in the south of Spain through the Búho System

Endesa has once again relied on the latest Applus + technology to carry out the supervision of its high voltage networks through the Búho System in Andalusia and Extremadura. To perform the inspection, dual cameras have been used for thermographic inspection and HD visual inspection, as well as LiDAR installed in a helicopter. Applus + has carried out this service during the month of July, where it covered all its power line in the south of Spain, in addition to 20 substations.
The use of the Búho for conducting inspections of power lines allows a faster obtaining of the results of the inspections than those carried out on foot. In addition, when supported by the documentary support provided by full HD visual and thermographic cameras, we increase the quality of the provided service.
With the use of our state-of-the-art LiDAR system, we are able to simultaneously carry out a distance inspection to detect any elements that are too close to the conductors. By means of the thermographic inspection, the possible hot spots in the elements of the lines are detected, enabling them to be repaired before faults occur. It is part of preventive maintenance.

The system is equipped with the most modern audio-visual means for capturing aerial images in motion. It also has GPS positioning and distance measurement techniques with laser and advanced means of post-processing of information in the laboratory.
