EVADE 2022 is an evolution of the INTERSECTION 2020 project to develop a methodology for testing autonomous emergency braking systems (AEB) in a new and challenging scenario: intersections.
EVADE 2022 is a project under development to establish test models for automatic emergency braking and evasive systems, such as the AES (Autonomous Emergency Steering) and the ESS (Emergency Steering Support) through digital solutions. In pursuit of this objectives, Applus+ uses both virtual simulators and physical environments, which enables the analysis of both the vehicle and the driver's reactions. This combination of a virtual and physical tool can check that the driver’s reaction is the same within the virtual simulator as when set in a physical environment. Therefore, this combination is essential for the ability to define the testing of these security systems.
