During the years 2021-2023, Spain has been able to participate in the "Next Generation EU" program and benefit from close to €72 billion in grants aimed at contributing to the European reconstruction following the COVID-19 pandemic. This represents a unique opportunity to transform the economy and promote the recovery of our country, which expects to create up to 800,000 new jobs thanks to the projects derived from this initiative.
This is a temporary emergency instrument aimed at accelerating the EU's sustainable recovery, mitigating immediate economic and social damage, and preserving and creating jobs.
These are the priority areas in which the aid will be focused:
1. Digital transformation: Modernization of the business fabric. Enhancement of economic productivity and competitiveness.
2. Ecological transformation: Production and utilization of clean and efficient energy sources.
3. Social and territorial cohesion: Reforms in the educational system, regional differences, labor market stability, etc.
4. Equality: Promotion of youth employment and gender equality.
