Applus+ in Singapore successfully completes heat shielding project for Sapura Esperanza

    Applus+, a leading provider of testing, inspection, and certification services, has successfully completed a significant engineering project for Sapura Esperanza in Singapore. The project, aimed at supplying a Heat Shielding (HS) structure and material for a key client campaign, was completed without any safety incidents, much to the satisfaction of the client.

    The project commenced in September 2023 and unfolded in three planned phases: Design and Engineering, Fabrication and Delivery, and Installation. Applus+ Singapore spearheaded the initiative, engaging multiple parties and collaborating with the client to meet all specified requirements and standards.

    Throughout the project's duration, Applus+ held numerous discussions and meetings with clients and vendors to ensure the heat shielding project met all requirements with minimal issues. Given the geographical distances involved, with parties located in the UK, Malaysia, and Singapore, most meetings were conducted online to facilitate smooth communication and coordination.

    The site installation work began in March 2024, and was divided into two stages. The first stage took place in Labuan, followed by the second stage in Miri, Malaysia, in April. During these stages, Applus+ and the vendor's site teams worked in close conjunction to ensure precise and safe execution of the project.

    A notable highlight was the Applus+ Rope Access Team's successful installation of the heat shielding at the Monkeyboard level on the drilling mast. Applus+ provides rope access NDT to our clients with a safe, cost-effective service, completing projects to the highest of standards.
