Applus+ has successfully completed a significant engineering project for offshore vessel Sapura Esperanza in Singapore. The project commenced in September 2023 and unfolded in three planned phases: design and engineering, fabrication and delivery, and installation of the heat shielding. Our team in Singapore spearheaded the initiative, engaging multiple parties and collaborating with the client to meet all specified requirements and standards.
Heat shielding is essential for the protection of sensitive equipment and personnel working in offshore vessels, due to their exposure to flammable gases and fuels. Therefore, It is a critical health and safety feature to protect them from high temperatures and fire hazards, common risks in offshore oil and gas environments. Applus+ was in charge of managing all phases of the project, from design to installation.
The first stages of the project involved numerous online discussions and meetings with clients and vendors located in the UK, Malaysia, and Singapore, ensuring smooth communication and coordination.
The installation work on-site took place in Malaysia in March and April 2024. During these stages, Applus+ and the vendor's site teams worked in close conjunction to ensure the precise and safe execution of the project.
Applus+ team of rope access inspection experts successfully managed the installation of the heat shielding at the Monkeyboard level on the drilling mast. We hold numerous rope access accreditations, within a wide range of industrial sectors, and we deliver a safe, cost-effective service, to complete projects to the highest of standards.
