Applus+ Velosi in Qatar participated in a Health and Safety Workshop organised by Ashghal’s Roads Project Department (RPD).
Ashghal is the Public Works Authority of Qatar headquartered in Al Dafna, Doha. In attendance were consultants, contractors and health & safety managers. Ashghal highlighted the health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies of the Roads Project Department and gave attendees an update on Ashghal’s projects in Construction and Maintenance as well as new contract awards and tenders.
Applus+ Velosi introduced their unique Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) services to Ashghal’s HSE team and to the consultants & contractors gathered at the event.
Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is a non-destructive-testing method that generates an electromagnetic signal, which penetrates the subsurface and measures the amplitude and the travel time of the returned signal. GPR data provides high-resolution cross-sectional images of the scanned material. Antennae of different frequencies allow for varying levels of resolution and depths of investigation. The data is very versatile and applicable across many disciplines.
This new technology expands the range of services that Applus+ Velosi is able to offer to the Qatar market.
