Applus+ Velosi in Oman is now an ISO/IEC 17020 accredited inspection body.
ISO/IEC 17020:2012 specifies requirements for the competence of bodies performing inspection and for the impartiality and consistency of their inspection activities. It applies to inspection bodies of type A, B or C, as defined in ISO/IEC 17020:2012, and it applies to any stage of inspection. From 2020 onwards only companies with this accreditation will be able to perform lifting inspection services for major oil and gas companies in Oman.
With this accreditation, Applus+ Velosi in Oman joins other offices in the Applus+ Group to be registered as an accredited inspection body. The accreditation was granted by GCC Accreditation Center (GAC) after Applus+ Velosi in Oman successfully implemented the ISO/IEC 17020 requirements. Applus+ Velosi was successful in demonstrating compliance to these requirements which was verified during an audit conducted by GAC auditors in the Oman office.
The achievement of obtaining accreditation is clear proof of Applus+ Velosi’s commitment to the maintenance of outstanding Management Systems and represents a major step forward in supporting the organization's drive for business performance improvement. The accreditation lays a foundation for continually improving operations by standardizing the Quality processes for the inspection services, and by periodically monitoring the performance.
Following the award of accreditation, Renukamurthy – Country Manager of Applus+ Velosi in Oman stated, “I would thank all the team members who were a part of this accreditation process, as this accreditation will strengthen our reputation, and add benefit to our performance in the Lifting and Scaffolding Inspection business in Oman.”
