Applus+ Velosi in Saudi Arabia participated in the 13th Edition of the SABIC Exhibition & Conference.
The SABIC Exhibition & Conference took place from 17 - 20 February in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The event attracted more than 35000 visitors and 400 exhibitors from 35 countries around the world.
SABIC is one of the largest petrochemical manufacturers in the world, and the largest non-oil companies in the Middle East. The SABIC Exhibition & Conference provides an international platform to SABIC vendors and suppliers and all companies who look to establish business partnerships with SABIC and other major companies that participate in the event.
Applus+ Velosi in Saudi Arabia was invited to exhibit in the week-long event and used this platform to showcase their In-line Inspection capabilities and the RTD DTI Trekscan tool. The RTD DTI Trekscan is the first free-floating pipeline in-line inspection tool designed to traverse back-to-back one-dimensional (1D) bends, with an optimum speed of one-metre-per-second (2.2 mph). It can run in pipelines previously considered to be 'unpiggable'. The bi-directional tool measures the return echoes of a transmitted ultrasound beam. The amount of time it takes to receive an echo provides highly accurate information on the remaining wall and enables the detection, characterisation and sizing of metal-loss anomalies. Using the latest ultrasonic technology and high-density transducer-carrier design, most refined petroleum products, water and crude oils can be used as a medium to run this tool.
Joining us at this year’s exhibition was Edwin Cornelissen, Head of Global Project Services for Applus+ RTD in the Netherlands. Edwin is the technical expert for the Applus+ Group’s ILI technology, and he was on hand to meet with customers and take their questions. Also attending the exhibition was Hazem Zein, Country Manager of Applus+ Velosi in Saudi Arabia; Ruan Lloyd, Regional GPS Manager, and Sudhanshu Sengar, Adnan Sindhu, Jaisal Ibrahim and Saad Al Awadat from the Business Development team in Saudi Arabia.
Ruan Lloyd stated, “The SABIC Exhibition & Conference was a great event. We saw a lot of interest in our ILI capabilities, especially the RTD DTI Trekscan tool. We hope to use this platform to strengthen our relationship with the SABIC group of companies and other customers in Saudi Arabia.”
