We are happy to announce that Applus+ Arabia was awarded a contract with the Ministry of Transport in Saudi Arabia.
The three-year contract will involve a team of 39 engineers and 2 project managers within the ministry, focused on improving road quality in the Kingdom.
The bid was led by Santiago Penabella, managing director of Applus+ Arabia, who said, “This award is the result of hard work by our team and it is our first with the Ministry of Transport which is very prestigious. We are proud to be working closely with the Saudi Government, having been extremely keen to establish a long term partnership with the Ministry. This is a big step towards that and we look forward to the challenges and successes of the project”.
The complex project will include consultancy, review of ongoing projects, evaluation of project execution and analysis of materials testing results. Additionally, the team will develop the new concrete and asphalt design guides as well as training staff. Ten of the engineering team will be Saudi nationals, who are expected to continue to work at the Ministry after the project is concluded.
