Applus+ employees in the Middle East & Africa region participated in Earth Hour 2020.
Earth Hour is a lights-out event which began in Sydney in 2007. Founded by the WWF and partners, Earth Hour aims to call attention to climate change. Every year, on the last Saturday of March, millions of people in over 180 countries switch off their lights to show their support for our planet.
This year, Applus+ employees in the Middle East & Africa region observed the first-ever digital Earth Hour. Our employees switched off their lights and appliances between 8:30 - 9:30 pm on Saturday, 28th March. During this time, they participated in online discussions, brainstorming sessions and environmental polls. Across the globe, virtual events were held through online platforms and social media, as the world united behind one goal: to achieve a cleaner and healthier environment for all. Alpha Quintero, an employee of Applus+ Velosi in the UAE says, "Earth Hour is a great initiative and reminds us about the importance of taking care of the environment. If everyone does his/her part, then we can ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations."
At Applus+, we constantly strive to operate more efficiently, waste less and reduce our ecological footprint.
