Applus+ Velosi in the UAE participated in the 11th edition of the Beat Diabetes Walk which took place at Zabeel Park in Dubai.
Over 20,000 UAE residents participated in the 3km walkathon to promote diabetes awareness, while pledging to lead an active and healthy lifestyle.
A team of 35 Applus+ Velosi employees joined thousands of other participants as they walked and danced their way through the park. The Dubai Health Authority conducted free blood glucose tests for all attendees. Participants learnt about the cause and effects of diabetes and why it is important to take care of one’s health. Other activities on the day included free fitness sessions consisting of yoga, Zumba and dance aerobics, a sports zone and a kid’s play zone.
All proceeds raised from the walk will go toward the Al Jalila Foundation to support diabetes research, awareness and care. Applus+ Velosi is proud to be a part of this great initiative and looks forward to engaging the community through more CSR activities in the future.
