Applus+ successfully delivers spherical tanks inspections in the US

This service allows us to access and inspect the internal welds of your spheres without the need for scaffolding or removing the protective insulation coating.

Our HEX system is designed and developed by our UK team, who have over 12 years of experience and 35+ successful deployments globally. The system is installed from the inside of the sphere in 3–4 days, and then lifted and rotated to the next vertical drop location for inspection. Our multidisciplined technicians use IWEX, an innovative ultrasonic technique that gives a more accurate picture of the condition of the sphere than conventional methods. Our inspectors provide inspection reports throughout the inspection program, and upon completion, we remove the HEX system in 2 days.

We have successfully completed HEX services on a spherical tank in the United States of America for a long-established client in the petrochemical market. The benefits that the client received are:
