Applus+, through its Energy & Industry Division in the UK, has again received a prestigious award in recognition of its practices and achievements in helping its staff, customers, clients and contractors on safety matters. The RoSPA Patron’s award introduced in 2017, is conferred on organisations that have achieved consecutive gold awards for 25 years or more.
Organisations who receive a RoSPA award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running Health & Safety industry awards.
The Applus+ UK team worked several months to complete the rigorous application process. It is designed to examine and test all aspects of the company’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System, including proactive safety performance, accident data and engagement with employees, clients and contractors.
This year (2021) Applus+ UK implemented a new and improved employee safety forum, which encourages employees to participate and collaborate in all aspects of health and safety; this turned out to be vital in securing the Patron’s award. “We are honoured to receive an exceptional award which demonstrates our companies continued focus on health and safety. It is worthy recognition of our ongoing dedication to continual improvement, which is only made possible by engagement and participation of our employees”, says Max Eyre, HSEQ Director at Applus+ UK.
The award recognises the continued success of Applus+ in terms of safety, as well as a range of new safety initiatives carried out during the past twenty-five years.
